libftdipp1 software package provides Library to control and program the FTDI USB controller, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libftdipp1
libftdipp1 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libftdipp1 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libftdipp1 *
You will get with libftdipp1 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
